The Innovation Lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture and Food Security (PiLAF) shines as a beacon of expertise and influence. Established in 2020 as part of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Security, PiLAF has rapidly become a pivotal player in shaping inclusive and sustainable agricultural and food security policies in Nigeria. PiLAF’s key objective is to influence the agricultural policy process by fostering research, capacity development, and collaboration among all stakeholders within the agri-food system.

THE REVIEW OF OYO STATE AGRICULTURAL STAKEHOLDERS MEETING

The program titled, Oyo State Agricultural Stakeholders Meeting, held on the 29th November, 2022 at the Seminar Room of the International Conference Center of University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria had in attendance stakeholders from the mainstream to the downstream value chain of the agribusiness in the state. The programme was geared towards bringing different stakeholders in the agricultural sector to discuss issues relating to fabrication.

THE REVIEW OF OYO STATE FEEDMILLERS WORKSHOP

The Innovation Lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture and Food Security (PiLAF) organized a workshop for feed millers in Oyo State. The engaging and informative event took place on September 28, 2022 at the University of Ibadan’s Faculty of Agriculture’s First Bank Building. Feed millers from different local government areas in Oyo state attended the gathering. The representative of the agriculture minister, guest speakers, and other PiLAF staff members were also present.

THE REVIEW OF STAKEHOLDERS DISCOURSE ON DAY OLD CHICK VALUE CHAIN IN OYO STATE

The interactive and insightful discourse was a physical meeting held on 24th August, 2022 at the Ibadan Business School, Adamawa hall, Bodija, Ibadan.

THE NEED FOR STAKEHOLDERS’ INVOLVEMENT IN POLICY PROCESS

Policy process can be conceived as a systematic procedure that involves pertinent problem identification, selection of mechanisms to tackle the problem, development of institutions to manage the operation and designing of strategy to measure and evaluate the activities. This underscores the fact that policy design is innovative, procedural and engaging.

AWARENESS AND PERCEPTION OF POULTRY FARMERS ON AGRICULTURAL POLICIES IN NIGERIA

Food insecurity has remained topical in Nigeria and this got exacerbated by the incidence of COVID-19. More than 60% households are threatened by food insecurity {Ibukun & Adebayo, 2020}. The poultry sector is crucial; it plays a dual role of reducing food insecurity and employment generation along with its high acceptance across many religious, cultural and ethnic lines in Nigeria.
